No oven required for this holiday treat?! Heck yeah! Looking for a quick holiday dessert to bring to the next get together? Or a homemade stocking stuffer? Or maybe a gift to say thanks to that special co-worker that keeps you from having the constant urge to pour whiskey into that coffee mug of yours – don’t act like you’ve never been tempted to pull this stunt. Either way, this is too easy and tasty of a recipe not to try!
Chocolate bark is such a fun way to use up the ingredients in your pantry, and the flavor combinations are endless – open up that pantry of yours and get those creative juices going! Bet you’ll surprise yourself with what you come up with! Here are some pantry ingredients that I think work well in chocolate bark [and that you may already have!]:
- Cereal
- Nuts + seeds
- Pretzels + potato chips
- Dried fruit [craisins, raisins, dried mango, coconut flakes, etc.]
- Leftover holiday cookies, or even granola bars [give them a rough chop and add to your bark!]
- Peanut butter + almond butter
- Marshmallows
- Sprinkles
- Graham crackers
- So. Many. Possibilities!
Orange Cranberry Chocolate Bark
Ingredients
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup craisins, roughly chopped
- 1/4 tsp orange extract
- 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup pistachios, roughly chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Microwave your white chocolate in microwaveable bowl for 40 seconds, then remove and give it a quick stir.
- Continue to microwave the white chocolate in 10-15 second increments until the chocolate is completely melted and has reached a smooth consistency.
- Add your orange extract to the melted white chocolate and stir until well combined.
- Pour your white chocolate onto a sheet of wax paper and spread the chocolate to the desired thickness with a knife or offset spatula.
- Sprinkle the craisins and the salt over the white chocolate. If desired, add chopped pistachios to the bark.
- Next, microwave your semisweet chocolate in a bowl. Starting with 30 seconds. If needed, heat the chocolate for an additional 10 seconds, then stir until melted completely.
- Use a spoon or knife to drizzle your melted chocolate over the sheet of chocolate.
- Let the chocolate bark set at room temperature, then break into pieces. You can store this bark in a ziplock bag in the fridge or in a cool place.
